What is Men Beyond Myths?

It’s a space for honest conversations about modern masculinity. The blog, and eventually the book and podcast, are about unpacking the myths men are handed and finding something more authentic, grounded, and human.

Why did you start this project?

I saw how many young men (and not-so-young men) were left out of the cultural conversation. We’ve talked a lot about how women can step into their power, which is important, but the message to men often gets reduced to: “Don’t be toxic.” That leaves a void. Men deserve a better roadmap — one rooted in growth, integrity, and connection.

Is this just another self-help blog?

Not really. I’m not here to hand down commandments. This is more of a shared journey — pulling together research, lived experiences, and stories that show what healthy masculinity looks like in real life. Think of it as a campfire conversation, not a lecture hall.

What’s with the “21 traits” I keep hearing about?

Glad you asked. I worked through a framework that maps out 21 traits that people consistently value in men across relationships — professional, familial, and platonic. These traits range from reliability to humor to vulnerability, and they look a little different depending on the context. The point isn’t perfection; it’s growth.

Do you use AI to write this?

Yes — but with guardrails. I draft, shape, and fact-check everything myself. I also use AI as a sounding board, a way to test ideas, and sometimes a first pass at structure. Think of it like a writing partner who doesn’t get tired. You’ll always get my voice, not a machine’s.

Will you make money off this?

Right now, no. There are no sponsors, no paid memberships. Down the line, if this community grows, I might introduce ways to support the project (ads, a book, events, or merch). But the heart of this project isn’t about monetization.

How can I get involved?

Start by reading, sharing, and joining the conversation. Leave comments. Ask questions. Bring your own stories. If you want to go deeper, I’ll eventually roll out a newsletter, maybe even a discussion group.

Is this only for men?

No. It’s about men, but not just for men. Partners, parents, friends, and colleagues all shape what masculinity means in practice. Everyone who cares about building healthier men and healthier communities is welcome here.
